The Town of Macedon is in Wayne County, New York. It is located in the southeast corner of Wayne County and contains a village also named Macedon. The town is east of Rochester and West of Syracuse.

Macedon is named after the birthplace of Alexander the Great, in Greek province of Macedonia, Greece. In 2013, Macedon’s Canalway earned the Heritage Award of Excellence from the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor.
