In Loving Memory
Ronald G. Bronstein, a Western New York real estate investor and developer who owned Paradigm Development, Inc.
Ronald was a native to Western New York. He grew up in Amherst and attended Amherst High School. Ronald’s father passed away suddenly when Ron was twelve years old and left him to care for his mother and younger brother. Ron and his brother began to work at their family’s business, Kauffman’s Bakery, located in Buffalo, New York. It was at this time that Ron first began to understand the importance of a family business and learned a strong work ethic. At age 16, Ron began working at his beloved stepfather Morton Dimet’s company, Simon Oil, where he would pump gas and clean cars. At the same time he would be delivering baked goods for Kauffman’s Bakery throughout New York State and Ohio.
Ronald was an avid basketball player and could often be found in Delaware Park catching a game. He followed his love of basketball to Bowling Green University but when his stepfather passed away Ron came home to Buffalo to care for his mother.
In 1973, Ron bought a 110-acre farm at the end of a dirt road in the Buffalo south towns renaming it Bitter Creek Farm after the Eagles song. At the time, the farm dating back to 1866 had no running water or electricity, but is now a gorgeous property with barns, pastures, horses and more than 250 acres.
Ron began breeding top racehorses in Kentucky and in Canada, while foaling them on Bitter Creek Farm. During the restoration of the farm, Ron began taking night classes at University of Buffalo, where he later graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors degree in sociology; a Masters in architecture and environmental design and received a Juris Doctorate degree in law. Ron was also president of his Architecture School.
Ron soon began a real estate development career by working for Benchmark, Inc. It was Ronald’s initiative that began the company building big box stores, such as Home Depot. Ronald always understood the hard work and integrity it took to run his own business, so in 1996 he began Paradigm Development, Inc.; a commercial real estate development company that worked closely with Lowe’s Home Centers to develop their New York State, Pennsylvania, and Ohio regions.
Eventually with business partner, close friend, and warm weathered confidante Douglas Morris, they continued to develop properties along the East Coast and California. In recent years, Ron became an active investor in real estate projects throughout the state of New York.
Ron spent a large amount of time in the Florida Keys with his wife Jennifer and their two daughters, enjoying the sun, fishing, and listening to good music.
Ronald G. Bronstein passed away suddenly in February of 2014 after a traumatic head injury.
Ron’s passion for education and real estate development enabled him to see his own success. He will be remembered by many as an example of what hard work, commitment, integrity and love of your family can do to accomplish your dreams.
